剧情简介二十世纪六十年代曾有过两部反映爱尔兰著名诗人王尔德的影片，这是另一部以王尔德生平为题材的电影，与其它影片不同的是，该片第一部将王尔德的同性恋经历搬上屏幕，并详尽地剖析了王尔德奇异恋情的思想历程，同时也展示了王尔德传奇的一生。
影片改编自著名剧作家王尔德的一生，讲述英国文学天才王尔德爱上俊美不羁的年轻爵士道格拉斯而遭到爵士父亲的控告，王尔德最终被判两年有期徒刑。
著名爱尔兰作家奥斯卡·王尔德生活在保守的维多利亚时代，他表面上有着美满的家庭生活，但暗地里却爱上了一个性格不定的贵族子弟。该公子的父亲无法忍受他们的恋情，于是将他送上法庭，使他遭到被判监禁的命运。
