剧情介绍本片主人翁是一个家庭破碎，在学校也常受欺负的英国乡下少年比利卡士柏，他依靠漫画书和在商店偷窃作为逃避现实的手段。一天无意间捡到一只幼鹰，比利十分喜欢，遂偷了一本养鹰术的书自行训练小鹰，他的纯熟技巧甚至吸引了老师的目光。比利的哥哥给他钱去投注赌马，比利却把钱拿去买东西给鹰吃。不料赛马胜出，哥哥因收不到奖金而大怒，把鹰杀死泄愤。比利只有默然埋葬他的爱鹰。
