1. 个人简历：1975年毕业于上海第二医科大学，1985年获上海第二医科大学医学硕士、1990年于美国俄亥俄州立大学获理学博士。1991至1994年在美国迈阿密大学医学院从事博士后研究。1994至2001年任美国圣路易斯大学医学院解剖和神经生物学系副教授，2001年6月至今任美国路易维尔大学医学院神经外科系副教授, James R. Petersdorf 讲座教授及路易维尔大学杰出学者。1999年起任上海第二医科大学神经生物学实验室客座教授、博士生导师。
2. 研究方向：主要从事脊髓发育、损伤和再生的研究。现有课题包括：1） 雪旺氏细胞和神经干细胞移植在脊髓修复中的作用；2）神经营养因子及基因治疗；3）脊髓二次损伤（如炎症和细胞程序性死亡）的机理和治疗；4）脊髓发生和再生时与轴突生长相关分子的表达。
3. 科研成果：曾获俄亥俄州立大学校长奖学金、Daniel Heumann 国际学者、美国神经创伤学会Michael Goldberger奖、Christopher Reeve自由研究奖等。近十年来，连续获得美国National Institutes of Health (NIH) 及国际脊髓损伤研究基金会等多项政府及民间机构的资助。目前任美国NIH基金评审委员会委员。迄今为止，已在国内外有影响的杂志，包括Journal of Comparative Neurology, Experimental Neurology, Journal of Neuroscience, Nature Neuroscience 等杂志上，发表论文六十余篇。
