Tuas Power

Tuas Power Ltd was incorporated in March 1995, when Singapore first began the reform of its electricity industry. Today, the Company has built a fully integrated portfolio of businesses in power generation, trading and retail and established itself as one of the forerunners in Singapore's electricity market.

Tuas Power Station

The S$2 billion, 2,670 MW Tuas Power Station is located at the western end of Singapore. Contributing to 25 per cent of Singapore's electricity needs, the station's generation output is produced by four natural gas fired combined cycle plants. The Station also owns two highly reliable fuel oil fired steam sets.

Tuas Power Supply

In June 2000, Tuas Power Supply Pte Ltd (TPS) was incorporated as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tuas Power Ltd. It later became the first electricity retail company to secure contracts in the liberalised electricity retail market. Tuas Power Supply is currently the electricity solutions provider for many businesses across all the major industries in Singapore.

Beyond Electricity

In April 2005, Tuas Power incorporated Tuas Power Utilities Pte Ltd (TPU), whose objectives are to seek and develop new businesses in related fields that will synergise with Tuas Power's core businesses.

In the highly competitive Singapore electricity market, Tuas Power constantly looks out for opportunities in order to grow its businesses and enhance long-term sustainability for the Company.

In September 2006, Tuas Power also entered into a joint venture with Gas Supply Pte Ltd (GSPL) to form TPGS Green Energy. The joint venture seeks to build and operate cogeneration and trigeneration systems for large manufacturing facilities.

Forging Global Alliances

To keep up with global and regional developments in the field of electricity, Tuas Power actively seeks opportunities to forge alliances with established players overseas. The company has participated in technical exchanges with Kyushu Electric Power Co., Inc in Japan and Genesis Energy in New Zealand. It has also welcomed several players in China and Japan to the Tuas Power Station in fruitful information sharing sessions.
