1980年10月，简金秋（JIANJINQIU）出生在湖南一个山清水秀的小镇，山不高而极清幽，水不宽而清潺，潇湘楚国，芙蓉之城，
简金秋（JIANJINQIU）就在这历史的浸染中，呼吸着时尚的空气成长起来。
童年时期，家族中有多位精通缝纫技术并从事或经营着制衣作坊，从小就喜欢去舅舅的制衣作坊里玩耍，常常注视着舅舅手里的尺子与画粉在布料上来回画着线条，最后裁剪又逢制成衣服，总觉得神奇不已，缠着舅舅给他做了一件新式的儿童中山装，留着到了新年才穿，在去外婆家拜年的路上，看到大家新奇的目光与赞叹、还有同龄异性的回头率，小小的简金秋经常兴奋不已。母亲和姑妈也会做衣服，四乡八邻常拿着布料来找母亲给他们做衣服，童年的简金秋常在那种古老的脚踏式缝纫机声中看书和写作业，直至困倦睡去。受母亲与姑妈及舅舅的影响，儿时的他就能够自己捣鼓针线，常常趁母亲不在家的时候，爬上那高凳子去探索那个上海永久牌的缝纫机，小学的时候，经常为同学缝补玩耍时刮破的衣服，同时跟随念师范的小姑妈学习绘画。
1995年，15岁的简金秋（JIANJINQIU）进入南华私立高中，他的艺术天分开始崭露头角，1998年与伙伴一起到星城长沙学习绘画与艺术设计，2000年世纪之交，简金秋考入北京服装学院，正式开始他的时装梦想，2001年在校期间开始给客人设计定制婚礼服，高级定制从此开始，毕业后进入意大利设计工作室工作，2005年进入中式第一品牌木真了工作，开始为影视明星及国家政要设计定制时装，2006年开始为香港DFFR设计开发皮草及皮具箱包，并开始研究奢侈品牌与市场，2008年创立以自己名字命名的时装品牌，2008年8月，简金秋在大牌云集的北京CBD核心商务区华贸中心开设了第一家高级定制店，开始着手运营自有设计师品牌“简金秋”。通过网络、博客、圈子、搜索引擎等宣传造势，“简金秋”成功成为全球时尚关键词，应邀参加2008年度新锐设计师论坛，与马艳丽、靳羽西等时尚名流同为网络红人，并受邀成为搜狐、财富生活等多家杂志及网站的撰稿人，
