著名演员，生于洛杉矶贝弗利，有好莱坞“才女”之称，腹语专家艾嘉．柏根的独生女。从小家境富裕，但并未使她养尊处优，反而养成了独立自主的个性。她只身前往瑞士念高中，毕业后返回美国念宾州大学，由于才貌俱佳，在校期间已成为知名模特儿。19岁离校投入了表演事业，以《八个梦》跃上大银幕，旋又演出大片《圣保罗炮艇》，可惜并未大红大紫，反而在写作及摄影方面的表现十分突出，作品刊登在多份知名杂志，也开过个人的摄影展。1980年9月她和法籍导演路易．马卢结婚。
获得过5次艾美奖。
