谢作伟，男，1964年1月出生。香港中文大学化学系教授博士生导师，中国科学院上海有机化学研究所研究生导师。

1995.8—至今历任香港中文大学化学系助理教教, 副教授, 教授

在香港中文大学:

现有博士后2名,博士生3名,硕士生2名。

在沪港实验室和吴奇教授合作从事高分子化学和物理研究，现有博士生1名，硕士生2名。在金属有机化学开放实验室和唐勇教授，钱长涛教授合作现有硕士生1名。

每年在有机所招收从事高分子和金属有机化学研究的学生各1名。

金属碳硼烷及金属有机化合物的合成，反应及结构研究

碳硼烷阴离子的合成及其在化学反应中的应用

小分子的活化及其大分子（聚合物）的合成
