Colin Morgan(born 1 January 1986) is an actor from Armagh, Northern Ireland, best known for playing the title character in the BBC TV seriesMerlin. After gaining a National Diploma in Performing Arts at Belfast Institute of Further & Higher Education in 2004 he went on to graduate from the prestigious Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in 2007.
On stage Morgan appeared in 2007 as Esteban in the Old Vic stage adaptation of Pedro Almodóvar'sTodo sobre mi madre, and took the title role in the Young Vic's adaptation of DBC Pierre'sVernon God Little.
Career
Morgan featured in a number of minor roles in television programmes such asThe Catherine Tate Showin 2007, and theDoctor Whoepisode "Midnight" in 2008, before playing title role in BBC TV seriesMerlin(2008).
He made his radio acting debut inCry Babiesby Kim Newman on BBC Radio 4 (March 2009).
He will make his film debut inThe Sea Change, an adaptation of Jane Rogers' novelIsland.
