故事大纲：
万圣节城的南瓜王骷髅杰克，在万圣节城里每天都是准备着下一下万圣节的搞怪，杰克总是做的最好。但日复一日的搞怪开始让杰克感到无比的孤独寂寞，他厌倦了一成不变的搞怪；无意中杰克掉进了一个奇怪的树洞进入了圣诞城，并被圣诞城的五彩宾纷和圣诞节里孩子们的欢笑深深地吸引，他发现自己很想变成圣诞老人，于是他绑架了圣诞老公公。
杰克自己穿上圣诞老公公的衣服，背上口袋，装着他自己认为很搞笑很好玩儿的东去送给小朋友们。可他却不知道他喜欢的却是小朋友们最害怕的。可怜的杰克带着礼物却把圣诞城里弄的人心愰愰的，杰克满怀兴奋发送的礼物引起人们的极大恐慌,到处布设的高射炮击落了杰克.好在杰克及时赶回万圣节城,使圣诞老人得以继续他的圣诞使命........制作过程圣诞惊魂夜是一部以实物木偶为对象，逐格拍摄而成的动画。为了拍摄这部影片，蒂姆伯顿请来了好莱坞100多位最著名的逐格动画高手，他们在4000多平米的摄影棚中，精心搭建了20个场景。即便如此，由于制作难度太高，这部影片平均每拍摄一分钟的镜头，就要耗费一周的时间，整部影片更是耗费了两年的时间。这是蒂姆伯顿第一次试验他所推崇的逐个木偶动画技术，也是好莱坞史上第一部如此规模的逐格木偶动画。它为蒂姆伯顿后来一部逐格动画《骷髅新娘》积累了宝贵经验。圣诞惊魂夜的主题曲男孩女孩不管你几岁
