《珊瑚礁历险记》是由海洋探险家与水下摄影师Howard Hall和Michele Hall，通过在南太平洋海域10个月的艰辛拍摄制作完成的。纪录片所展现的是世界上面积最大、最壮观，同时也是最危险的珊瑚礁群。他们的探险旅程从澳大利亚的大栅栏礁（Great Barrier Reef）开始，一直到斐济的帝王岛，以及神秘的Rangiroa环礁。两名摄影师与知名的海洋探险家Jean-Michel Cousteau以及研究深海礁科学家Richard Pyle，一齐将这一自然界的壮观景象，清晰有逻辑的介绍与呈现给观众。
