潘京乐
皮影艺术大师潘京乐
年近八旬的潘京乐是华州皮影戏目前的领军人物,也是最长的仍有能力演出的表演大师,有皮影戏“活化石’之称。潘老15岁开始学习皮影,5个月后登台演出就一炮走红,有五月红的美誉。潘老最擅长的是细腻悠长的“碗碗腔”,这种嗓音中略带着哭声的唱腔,跌岩起伏,感人至深。他将200多个全本戏记得滚瓜烂熟,随笔爱你哪一出都能随时地唱四五天都不用休息。
60多年来,潘老不但唱遍了渭河南北,还把皮影戏唱到了北京、上海、台湾、香港等地,甚至唱到日本、德国、法国等国家。
潘老现在已经很少登台演出,在陕西雨田社主要致力于皮影戏的抢救和发展工作;培养皮影新人,指导皮影的表演和雕刻,保存皮影戏的声像资料。
潘老的最大心愿,就是古老的华州皮影文化不会从自己的手上失传。

Almost in his eighties, Pan is now the leading figure of HuaZhou Shadow shows, and is also the eldest master who is still able to perform. He is known as the“living fossil” of Shadow puppet.Mr.Pan started to learn Shaow puppet when he was 15, and as soon as he took the stage 5 months later he had his moment.Thus he enjoyed the reputation of “going over big in May”. Mr, Pan is best at exqusite and long “WanWan aria”, which has slight crying sound in the voice with ups and downs and is extremely touching. He know the 200 complete scripts thoroughly by heart, and can sing any one of them whenever and wherever required; he can also sing continuously for six to seven hours and he can sing non-stop for four to five days.
For more than sixty year, Mr, Pan has not only performed throughout the area beside the north and south bank of Weihe River, but also has performed in Beijing, Shanghai, Taiwan, HongKong, and even in Japan, Germany, and France. Now, Mr, Pan seldom takes stage, but is dedicated to the saving and development of Shadow puppet in Shaanxi Yutian Society: training young Shadow puppet performers, instructing Shadow puppet performance and sculpting, as well as recording audio and visual documentations.
It is Mr, Pan’s biggest wish that the age-old HuaZhou Shadow puppet culture will not be lost in his hand.
