专辑介绍2005年9月，由于在药物观察期违禁服药，Courtney Love又给自己的戒毒期限增加了六个月。期间她的朋友Linda Perry曾来看望过她，并鼓励Love继续创作新歌。Love在借来了一个小型的松下录音机后开始了自己的创作，在康复中心她完成了8首新歌的录制。两个月之后，她将这盘“康复中心录音带”交给了Linda Perry和Billy Corgan，而后三人便一起为Love凑成了一支完整的乐队，来正式录制唱片。

与五年前的《America's Sweetheart》相比，这次的Love明显有了大变化，她不在一味地像个婊子般蛮横愤怒，而是出人意料地唱起了忧伤和动人，沧桑和缅怀。《Pacific Coast Highway》很明显是Love写给Kurt的，“I knew a boy/He left me so ravaged/Do you even know the expense of the damage”，民谣式的开场让这样的独白显得悲怆不已。很难说清这是Love的伪善还是真诚，毕竟这个寡妇借Kurt刮油水搞噱头也不是第一次。然而即使你有种种猜测和怀疑，但当Love用她略带沙哑的嗓音唱出“And I've lost myself completely/I look to you my shooting star”这般无助的词句，以及在《For Once In Your Life》中一遍遍重复“So what can I do”时，你又怎能不为之动容？

当然这张专辑也不尽是对Kurt的矫情怀念，在谈到《Stand Up Motherf*cker》的创作初衷时，Love讲述了一个小插曲：“我的外祖母在接受《New York Times》的采访时声称她不喜欢我说话的方式和用词，因此我写下这首歌，并用上‘Motherf*cker’这个词，就是要对此做出回应。”《Sunset Marquis》的钢琴伴奏听上去像是PJ Harvey在《White Chalk》中所做的那样，事实上这张专辑中能让你联想到PJ Harvey的作品绝不止这一首，而《Sunset Marquis》就像是Love的自白，在这样的歌声中，Love内心的迷茫和痛苦还如何遮掩得住？
