简介栅栏桌面（fences）是著名的Stardock公司推出的一款软件，用来分类和组织桌面上的图标一款软件。它可以将不同的图标放到不同的“容器”当中，使用者还可以移动和拉伸这个“容器”。这样将图标分类以后，桌面再也不会看起来一团糟了。它还提供了一个有趣的功能：双击桌面，隐藏所有图标；再次双击桌面，显示所有图标。
Fences™ is a program that helps you organize your desktop, and can hide your icons when they're not in use. A "Fence", a term coined by this program, is an icon group on your desktop. Fences is an add-on to your desktop, not a replacement.Your desktop by creating shaded areas which become movable and sizable containers for your icons. Double click blank spaces on your desktop and all your fences will fade out, and back.[1]

Fences allows you to create shaded areas on your desktop that you can place icons in. You can label them however you wish, and move/resize them anywhere on the desktop. Pre-included layouts help speed the process for new users.
2）See your wallpaper again! Quickly hide & show all your icons with an easy double-click
Double click blank space on your desktop, and all your icons will fade out. Double click again, and they’ll return. We think this feature is so useful and unique, that we’ve applied for a patent on it. You can even pick icons and individual Fences to exclude!
3）Create snapshots, and have automatic scaling (for screen size changes)
Take and restore snapshots of your Fence layouts for backup, or for when you are doing different tasks. Change your resolultion for playing games and Fences will keep them in the same relative spots. Sort your icons either by one of the standard methods (by name, type, date created), or by one of the unique options provided by Fences (date added to the fence, number of times opened). Now that you've organized your icons, why have them sticking out like a sore thumb? Fences历史"Fences", originally "Desktop Icon Organizer", was started in 1999 as a tool to help standardize desktops across PCs, back in the author's high school "web-editors club" computer lab. (Screenshots from / download the 2003 prototype edition) It wasn't until 2007 when the idea was first publically announced and brought for discussion around the web. About a year later the program finally got its chance at a Vista-compatible remake, and in 2008 Stardock proudly announced its new product, "Stardock Fences"!
