人有大臭者

出处：《吕氏春秋·遇合》。“人有大臭者，其亲戚兄弟妻妾，知识无能与居者，自苦而居海上。海上人有说其臭者，昼夜随之而弗能去。”

翻译：有人身体散发奇臭，他的亲族兄弟妻妾，包括所有认识他的人都无法和他呆在一起，他自己很烦恼于是住到了海上。海上却有人喜欢他的臭味，日夜跟随离他不得。

喻义：一般用来比喻：癖好与众不同的人。

举例：三国魏·曹植《与杨德祖书》：“人各有好尚，兰荪蕙之芳，众人之好好，而海畔有逐臭之夫。”

CHASING AFTER THE SMELL

There was a very foul-smelling person. Not one of his paternal or maternal relatives by blood or marriage， his elder or younger brothers， his principal wife， concubines， or acquaintances was able to live together with him. He himself was distressed by this and so went to live by the seashore. There were people at the seashore who liked his smell； they followed him day and night
