作者作者罗布.汤姆.史密斯（生于1979年）英国作家。母亲是瑞典人父亲是英国人。史密斯从剑桥大学毕业之后，2001年他完成了在意大利的学业。然后又学了一年的创作和研究后，开始担任编剧。
他的第一本小说，"Child44"。出现在2008年，被翻译成17种语言。被授予年度最佳惊悚的犯罪作品，同年11月，他被提名为2008年哥斯达黎加的新人奖。2009年7月，他获得了最佳销售阅读奖。2009年，他出版了第二本小说，“The Secret Speech"。
