■Biography
Jeremy Abbott喜欢上滑冰的契机是在2岁时看了美国奥运金牌获得者Robin Cousins的表演,他因此开始接触学习,4岁就参加一系列正式的等级测验和比赛,在真正专攻男单选手之前,他也曾经是冰舞和双人滑的选手;
01-02赛季第一次以男单选手的身份参加全美的少年组比赛之后,他每年都有不小的进步,并在05年获得了全美青少年组的男单冠军。
当他志得意满的开始憧憬他第一个成年组赛季(05-06)的时候,显然没想到面对他的并不是一马平川,夺得青少年组冠军后训练量的缺乏以及停滞不前的状态让他这赛季参加的仅仅两项比赛成绩糟糕,因此他没能取得参加全美的资格,同时也失去了冲击奥运阵容的机会;
在蛰伏了将近一年时间后, Abbott开始复苏,低调出征的他,在Finlandia Trophy和Midwestern Sectional都取得了冠军,而后者同时也正是全美的资格赛, Abbott得以顺利进军他的第一次全美成年组的比赛,在短节目位列第9的情况下,他以当晚排名第三的精彩自由滑表现最终获得了总成绩第四名,这是20年内首次参加全美成年组选手的最好成绩,他也因此进入了国家队参加四大洲和世锦赛的替补阵容,由于Weir的缺席,他搭上了参加4CC的末班车,这次比赛对他来说有特殊意义,这是他的第一场ISU的国际赛事,而举办地就是他生活训练的科罗拉多泉,凭借短节目的出色发挥和自由滑的平稳表现,他获得了铜牌,第一次站上了ISU国际比赛的领奖台。
而08年,全美又移师到明尼苏达的圣保罗进行,Abbott再度位列第四,尽管他是这次赛事中少数几个在短节目和自由滑中都完成了四周的男选手,但这并不足以让他的名次比去年有所提升。在全美之后,他又参加了四大洲的比赛并获得了第五名的不错成绩,从韩国归来,本以为将就此结束赛季的Abbott,却由于Lysacek的因伤退出,幸运的得以在最后关头作为替补参加在瑞典进行的世锦赛。
尽管这次世锦赛的初体验，他只是名列第11，却在长短节目中都挑战四周获得成功。
令人难忘的08-09赛季始于金秋的中国北京,一年一度的中国杯在这里举行,原本这是一站高手云集的赛事,但计划不如变化,新的赛季刚开始就风云突变,首先是Buttle宣布退役,接着高桥因为膝盖的伤势而不得不放弃整个赛季,而这时,Abbott在一套干净的短节目之后，收获了个人的最好成绩并排名首位,而更令人没有想到的是,在自由滑中,他再接再厉,以极为流畅的表现为观众带来了探戈宴,再次刷新了他的个人的最好成绩,一举获得了中国杯的冠军。之后他获得俄罗斯站的第四,顺利进军总决赛。
总决赛前良好的状态延续到比赛中,在一套堪称赛季最佳的短节目后他暂列第二。第二天的自由滑决战中,呈现在观众们眼前的,是一套扣人心弦,编排饱满并有着完美技术发挥和内涵呈现的自由滑节目,在一片的惊叹声中,Abbott是实至名归的冠军,并成为了第一位获得大奖赛总决赛冠军的美国选手。
总决赛之后,Abbott的美梦似乎仍在延续,在连续两年获得全美第四之后,他终于登上了全美成年组男单的最高领奖台;连续两个重量级的冠军头衔接踵而至,让人们对接下来的四大洲以及世锦赛上Abbott的表现充满期待,但谁都未曾料到这位新科冠军之后的运势和状态仿佛过山车般一泄千里,与全美仅仅相隔1周时间的就开赛的四大洲锦标赛,明显能看出他精神和体能上的双重疲劳,如果这时还能用无法及时调整状态做为理由的话,那他在赛季的年终大戏世锦赛的表现则更是让人大跌眼,在前半赛季百发百中的3A跳跃,竟然在比赛中完全失灵,尽管在其他方面他发挥的相当不错,甚至在表演上要更优于总决赛,但技术方面的严重后腿直接导致了惨淡的分数,而最后的结果,他和去年一样,依然只位列第11。
不过,这次他并未给自己找借口或是怨天尤人,"从某种意义上来说,这是可以预料的结果,"他说,"虽然名次和去年一样,但我反倒坦然了许多,我全身心的投入进节目做到了现阶段的全部,我并不认为自己是失败者,一切远未就此结束。我会为下赛季,为参加奥运会继续努力。"
