王沂东
1955年5月11日出生于山东蓬莱县，1968年 入山东临沂第一中学，1970年 在山东沂源柴油机厂当车工，参加工厂演出队的演出，绘制厂内的宣传画、演出队的 舞台背景，1972年 十二月考入山东艺术学校美术科，开始系统学习绘画。在山东运城县李集公社参加劳动锻炼一年，1978年 考入中央美术学院油画系。学习期间曾先后赴山东大渔岛、河北承德、新疆伊犁、吉林延边、山东蒙阴、费县、沂水、沂源、沂南等地写生采风。1982年毕业并留校任教。现为中央美术学院教授、中国美术家协会会员。
王沂东是当今中国最具实力的油画艺术家之一。他游刃有余地将西方古典油画的精湛技法与中国民族文化的审美意蕴融于一体，成功地再现了自己独特的艺术风格。他的作品笔法精细严谨、造型线条分明、形体结构准确并擅长表现人物丰富复杂的内心世界，以古朴凝重而又俏丽灵动的艺术魅力扣人心弦。
王沂东出生于民风纯朴、山川如画的鲁南乡村。故乡的山水赋予了他具有浓郁的乡土气息和深刻精神内涵的艺术气质。他的作品深情地辉映着他所深深眷恋的那片热土。
王沂东对古典主义大师的表现技法兼收并蓄，融汇中国传统文化的艺术语言，将油画创作的基本技巧与作品的情致结合起来，以金色、白色、黑色和红色等几种主要的对比与渗透，实现了画面凝重而不呆滞，强烈而不生硬的艺术效果，具有一种含蓄而动人的内在美。
王沂东的画于静态中展现动态，在稳重中挥洒灵秀，从色彩中寄托内涵，犹如一坛陈年佳酿，洋溢着欧洲文艺复兴时期艺术风采的醇厚，回味着中国宋代工笔流韵的清香。
1977年 8月作品《沂蒙新春》《笑看纸老虎》参加全国“纪念建军50周年美术作品展”。

1988年 5月《二妞的早晨》参加英国苏富比拍卖行援助长城—威尼斯北京拍卖会（北京劳动人民文化宫）。同年，作者的名字刻上慕田峪长城纪念碑。

1990年 2月作品在美国达拉斯城达拉斯艺术博物馆展出。
