Folkearth

Folkearth 成立

于2004年2月，与其说是一个乐队，不如说是一个由多位艺术家参与的维京音乐复兴计划。乐队成员十多人（不固定），兴盛时成员高达19名，包括6位主唱、3位吉他手、4位贝司手、6 位鼓手，大部分是来自世界各地包括瑞典、英国、希腊、德国、意大利等的民谣高手。除此之外，还有48位参与演奏或制作唱片的艺术家。如果归在一起算，Folkearth总共有67名成员，其中一些成员来自我们熟悉的Pagan Reign、Hordak、Eluveitie、Forefather等维京、黑金、民谣、异教乐队。当然，他们并非集体上阵，但天南地北遥远的握手促成了Folkearth五年出版五张唱片的佳绩。

乐队的发起人和组织者来自瑞典旋黑乐队Broken Dagger的吉他手Magnus Wohlfart（同时，他也是民谣Yggdrasil乐队的吉他手、单人黑金Naeblis和Anti-Christian Assault乐队的唯一成员）。Magnus找到了很多能和他团结起来一起实现这个计划的朋友，于是，大家分别在自己的国家捕捉民间音乐的灵感和构思音乐，经过一段时间的制作，来自瑞士、英格兰、立陶宛、希腊、奥地利、瑞典等国家的艺术家纷纷提交了自己的录音作品，由 Magnus在自己的工作室进行混音和包括填词（英文部分）的后期处理。2004年9月，Folkearth的处女作《A Nordic Poem》由俄罗斯Stygian Crypt 唱片公司发行。

从《A Nordic Poem》中，能听到整个欧洲对维京金属这种音乐形式的表现态度，由于参与录制唱片的乐队风格各不相同，但歌颂北欧历史，歌颂奥丁大神和维京神话是全体一成不变的主题。旋律开放大气，维京武士豪迈粗犷的气势一览无余。《A Nordic Poem》旋律比较哀伤，缓慢的节奏没有引起乐迷的重视。随着更多的民谣乐手的加入，乐队的音乐元素愈加丰富，风笛、口哨、口琴等乐器大量的使用，使之后的三张唱片的可听性得到了大幅度的提升，乐队的主唱不固定，男女声都有、嗓音也各有千秋。
