[a]尤海鲁等古生物学家在中国甘肃省肃北县马鬃山地区的中生代早白垩地层发现了一种新属恐龙：神州戈壁巨龙(gobititan shenzhouensis you et al., 2003)是一种相当原始的巨龙类(titanosauria)，该次的发现说明了巨龙类可能在早白垩世或更早的年代里已经在亚洲游弋。
