[a]犸君颅龙是在1979年发现，来自马达加斯加白垩世的三个分离的化石含有无数的恐龙骨头，这些骨头上有兽脚恐龙犸君颅龙(majungatholus atopus)的典型的牙印，其中一些牙印在犸君颅龙的骨头上。表 明，犸君颅龙可能曾将捕食同类作为一种生存方式。至今已经发现的成年犸君颅龙个体化石包括了几乎完整的头骨以及尾部的绝大部分。
