吊死鬼
“吊死鬼”平常是呆在树上的，未老熟前也不能吐丝。但是到能吐丝了以后，它们并不立即钻入土中化蛹，还会在树上呆一段时间，这时它们一旦受惊就会采取自我保护的措施——吐丝把自己悬在空中，脱离树枝。
一般突然来的大风吹过树的时候就会有不少“吊死鬼”垂下来。
另外，说明一点，它们入土化蛹的时候，并不是从树上垂下来的，而是直接爬到地面上去。
以下，尺蠖资料。
尺蠖（chihuo）无脊椎动物，昆虫纲，鳞翅目，尺蛾科昆虫的统称。幼虫身体细长，行动时一屈一伸像个拱桥，休息时，身体能斜向伸直如枝状。完全变态。成虫翅大，体细长有短毛，触角丝状或羽状，称为“尺蛾”。全世界约有12000种，我国约有43种。幼虫为害果树，茶树、桑树、棉花和林木等。如茶尺蠖的幼虫食害叶片，严重时造成光秃现象。静止时，常用腹足和尾足抓住茶枝，使虫体向前斜伸，颇像一个枯枝，受惊时即吐丝下垂；又如枣尺蠖的幼虫，不仅食害枣树，酸枣的叶片，并食嫩芽、花蕾。雌成虫无翅，雄成虫全体灰褐色，前翅有褐色波纹2条。我国南北各地最常见的桑尺蠖，其幼虫常作为“拟态”的典型代表。
生活史及习性：
每年发生1代，以蛹在树下土中8～10厘米处越冬。翌年3月下旬至4月上旬羽化。雌蛾出土后，当晚爬至树上交尾，卵多产在树皮缝内，卵块上覆盖有雌蛾尾端绒毛。4月中下旬枣树发芽，幼虫孵化为害，为害盛期在5月份。5月下旬至6月上旬幼虫先后老熟，入土化蛹越夏越冬。
天敌: 有枣尺蠖肿跗姬蜂和寄生蝇。
防治方法：
1.成虫羽化前，在树干基部挖蛹。
2.在树干绑15厘米宽的塑料薄膜带，然后集中捕杀。
3.在卵基本孵化结束时，喷洒有机磷杀虫剂或菊酯类杀虫剂。
吊死鬼
形成原因：上吊自杀而死，怨气所致．
出现方式：常为女性，手握一根绳子，上有血腥，要求你带回家。
害人指数：30--99
防范方法：由于上吊致死，看怨气轻重而定，不过说什么也不要答应她把绳子带回家。

吊死鬼游戏 Hangman (game)
Hangman is a paper and pencil guessing game for two players. One player thinks of a word and the other tries to guess it by suggesting letters.
The word to guess is represented by a row of dashes, giving the number of letters. If the guessing player suggests a letter which occurs in the word, the other player writes it in all its correct positions. If the suggested letter does not occur in the word, the other player draws one element of the hangman diagram. The game is over when:
The guessing player completes the word, or guesses the whole word correctly

This diagram is, in fact, designed to look like a hanging man. Although debates have arisen about the questionable taste of this picture, it is still in use today.
The exact nature of the diagram differs; some players draw the gallows before play and draw parts of the man's body (traditionally the head, then the torso, then the left arm, then the right arm, then the left leg, then the right leg).
Some players begin with no diagram at all, and drawing the individual elements of the gallows as part of the game, effectively giving the guessing players more chances.
Some modifications to game play, such as "'buying' a vowel" and the "RSTLNE" common letter use result from the U.S. television game show Wheel of Fortune, created by Merv Griffin.
Hangman is sometimes played as a forum game.
