简介(brief introduction)

[a]中国地质科学院的尤海鲁研究员等古生物学家在中国辽宁省北票市双庙(shuangmiao)，孙子家湾层(sunjiawan formation ealry late cretaceous)发现了晚白垩世早期的巨龙类骨骼化石，该新属新种命名为维氏北方龙(borealosaurus wimani gen. et sp. nov.)。其化石包括尾椎骨(lpm0169 holotype)，牙齿，及部分腕骨。北方龙与蒙古发现的后凹尾龙(opisthocoelicaudia)非常相似，暂时归为后凹尾龙亚科中。
