剧情介绍阿斯特丽德(爱莉森·洛曼)今年15岁，母亲英格丽德（米歇尔·菲佛）是位诗人。她们的生活不同凡俗，也充满快乐，直到有一天，有一个男人来到她们的生活中，英格丽德狂热地爱上了他。在被抛弃以后，英格丽德用自己最喜欢的夹竹桃花毒死了他。阿斯特丽德目睹母亲被捕，英格丽德被判终生监禁。这个事件改变了母女俩的生命。突然之间，阿斯特丽德孤苦无依，一切只能依靠她自己。
精彩花絮·芮妮·齐薇格扮演的角色克莱尔，展示她当演员拍摄过的一些电影片断。这部影片实际上真的是她早期的第一部电影Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1994)。
