剧情介绍电影追溯了超级名模吉雅从18岁掘起，到26岁陨落的悲剧性一生。吉娜出生于宾州，在父母虐待的阴影下成长，1977年搬到纽约成为模特儿，在经纪人威海明娜的保护下，逐渐跃上「大都会」、「风尚」杂志的封面，以及名牌服装凡赛斯的广告，在当时保守的七O年代，她特殊的气质风格，让人神魂颠倒，迅速风靡了全世界。但是，如日中天的声誉却迫使吉娜另寻解脱，不幸的是她选择了毒品，令她好不容易挣来的成就堕入黑暗的深渊，最后在1986年，以26岁芳龄死于爱滋病，是美国最早死于爱滋病的女人之一。
