《上海日报》诞生于1999年10月1日，是中国第一份地方性英文报纸，并由国内最大的报业集团文汇新民联合报业集团出版发行。目前是上海地区最具影响力的英文大报，在中国经济发展活跃的长三角地区和华东地区都有深远的辐射力。

Shanghai Daily(Chinese: 上海日报; Pinyin: Shànghǎi Rìbào) is one of two main English-language newspapers inChina(the other beingChina Daily) and is the first English-language newspaper, started in October 1999, owned by the largest press group in China - Wenhui-xinmin United Press Group. Its primary audience is visiting foreigners, mainly overseas investors and tourists. Now it's the most influential English-language large newspaper in Shanghai Area, where is the most booming area in China. The paper reports the economic, social, cultural and diplomatic development inShanghaiand the surrounding region.
Now, Shanghai Daily has 48 pages in each issue, with a large official circulation of 110,000.
