扬州中学教育集团树人学校是1999年6月经扬州市人民政府批准创办的民办学校。目前已招收初中七届计74个班级和高中一届4个班级，管理上实行董事会领导下的校长负责制，经济上独立核算。办学充分发扬扬中的优良传统，锐意进取，开拓创新，逐步建成具有一流校园，一流设施，一流师资，一流管理和一流质量的新型民办学校。

办学以来，充分运用扬州中学底蕴深厚的教育资源，逐步形成一支学养深厚、敬业奉献的骨干教师队伍。实行开放式办学，聘请社会各界名师和外籍教师讲学，组织师生参与国际教育交流活动。实行小班制授课，每班不超过40名学生。教育教学强化基础素质教育，注重创新意识培养和学生个性发展，强化拔尖人才的培养。为了适应现代社会需要，学校加强了英语、计算机和艺术教育。学校设立高额树人奖学金，奖励优秀师生。成立了“家长委员会”，参与学校管理。实行目标管理，定期举行办学成果展示活动等，形成了鲜明的办学特色。由于高举了教育现代化旗帜，培养目标明确，以提高教育教学质量为中心，全面贯彻党的方针，面向全体学生，加强了制度建设、组织建设、师资队伍建设、课程建设，教育教学成果斐然。各学科竞赛、市区会考、历届中考在市区学校中均取得最佳成绩，得到领导、社会和广大家长的普遍好评。

A Brief Introduction to Shuren School of Yangzhou Middle School Education Group

Being one of the national “Exemplary Schools” of China and a “Model School” of Jiangsu Province, Yangzhou Middle School has long been well-known throughout the world for its long history, brilliant educational conception and approach, highly qualified teaching staff consisting of distinguished senior teachers and well trained younger ones, and tens of thousands of talented graduates it has brought up over the past nearly 100 years since its birth. Among its graduates who have achieved distinction are Jiang Zeming, the former CPC General Secretary and Chairman of the People’s Republic of China, Zhu Ziqing, famous writer, scholar, and democrat, Hu Qiaomu, former member of the Standing Committee of CPC Consultative Committee, and two former UN vice secretary generals Bi Jilong and Xie Qimei. In addition, 42 fellows of the Chinese Science Academy have received their basic education here.

Being a private school established in June 1999 with the approval from Yangzhou Municipal Government, Shuren School Yangzhou Middle School Education Group enjoys all-out support from Yangzhou Middle School in all respects. The school has so far enrolled three grades of junior middle school students who study in 74 classes, and one grade of senior middle school students. In management Shuren School adopts the modern managerial method whereby its schoolmaster assumes all executive powers under authorization of the school board. The combination of the glorious tradition of Yangzhou Middle School with youthful dynamism and zest for innovation has enabled Shuren School to develop into a new school with serene and beautiful campus, modern teaching facilities, first class teaching staff, efficient management and excellent teaching standards.

Over the past two seven years, Shuren School has succeeded in building up its own distinctive features. Though a private school in nature, it is backed up by the rich educational resources and strong teaching staff of Yangzhou Middle School. Furthermore, the school has maintained its pioneering and initiative approaches to education by engaging numerous well-known teachers from all aspects of society as well as foreign teachers and by encouraging and organizing teachers and students to take part in international activities oriented towards educational exchanges. Care has been taken to restrict the class size with each class having no more than 40 students.
