乐团：Within TemptationWithin Temptation成立于1996年,自从荷兰的美声歌德金属乐团The Gathering，约莫于95、96年开始，在欧洲大放异彩之后，使得这样的美声式柔美金属乐型式，逐渐受到愈来愈多乐迷的喜爱，The Gathering的音乐风格也对相当多的新生代乐团产生启发和影响，而The Gathering的影响力有多大，从同为荷兰乐团的后生晚辈Within Temptation和After Forever身上就能听得到！
1996年，吉他手Robert Westerholt离开其原属的乐团The Circle(后来更名为Voyage)，希望另组新团以展开全新的开始，首先他找来他的女友Sharon den Adel担任主唱，接着他又邀请The Circle的前团员加入，于是bass手Jeroen van Veen和吉他手Michiel Papenhove两人决定跳槽来新团，最后，他们再找来一位鼓手Dennis Leeflang，Within Temptation就这样正式成军。不过此时他们仍缺一名keyboard手，很快地这个位置就由Robert的弟弟所补上，WT的阵容也终于抵定。
不久后，他们想方设法联络了不同的唱片机构,WT录制了一卷4曲的demo tape，并寄发给多家唱片公司，希望争取唱片合约，而这张demo也引起多家厂牌的注意，Within Temptation 最后决定与 DSFA Records签约。在与DSFA签约之后,一切进入正轨,然而由于团员们与鼓手不合，于是鼓手的位置很快便由新任的Ivar de Graaf入替。 1997年4月，Within Temptation正式发行了首张专辑，令人印象深刻。专辑风格若扣除吉他手Robert的death vocal演出，事实上就是全然优美导向的gothic metal，不过正由于death腔的加入及厚重的吉他刷扣，使得这张专辑既能呈现动人的优美气息，又不失金属乐该有的重量感。整张专辑的编曲结构虽然简单，但是丰富的情感和气氛烘托，伴随Sharon迷人演唱的引领，反倒能够紧紧 ……

说大友克洋自制自编自导的「memories」是九零年代日本动画的代表作（电影方面）并不为过。在新价值观、快餐文化充斥的日本动画创作中，少有几部令人荡气回肠，并值得做深度讨论的作品。
第一部份「她的回忆」充斥着宇宙黑洞的幽深和华丽的幻觉，一艘太空运输船收到神秘的求救讯号，循声进入一座废弃的宇宙飞船里却侵入了一个歌剧名伶的回忆世界（幻觉）里。当女伶伴随着普契尼【蝴蝶夫人】的咏叹?#123;出现在主角的眼前时，真与幻已经分不清楚．．．．咏叹?#123;的旋律彷若海上女妖罗莉莱的歌声．．．渐渐地连母船也失去控制，被卷入甜蜜与辛酸回忆的黑洞涡流中．．．．菅野洋子的配乐再次证明了她的才气并不局限于古典、流行、二十世纪古典（爵士除外），而以一种跨界（Cross-Over）的面貌呈现于动画界中。这段除了高潮部份的巨大玫瑰以外，并没有其它两段那种浓厚的大友味。
第二段「最臭兵器」讲明了就是一出永无止境的荒谬剧。身为科学研究员的公务员吃了「最臭兵器」之后，一觉醒来却浑然不知山梨县为他天翻地覆，更白烂的事，是他竟能幸运的躲过各种尖端武器的攻击，履行一项义务。最白烂的是他就带着这身毒气，乖乖的交差，把美日联军的指挥本部也搞得天翻地覆。大友克洋式的黑色幽默在这段故事里，完全投注在这位尽忠职守的上班族身上。试想得了重感冒还要到公司上班，如果回家休养会不会好些？如果没吃那粒「最臭兵器」，事情是否就不会惹得这么大条？所谓「杀一救百」，军队不惜动用坦克车、战斗机发动这场徒劳无功的攻击，是否害了更多无辜百姓？没有人告诉这位白烂的主角，「最臭兵器」究竟有多可怕，而他们也无法阻拦主角的重要任务。大友克洋在片中充份讽刺了日本上班族的愚忠。
第三段「大炮之街」一般公认是最难懂的一段。不妨这么想：这是大炮之街里某户平凡老百姓家的一天的完整记录。大炮之城里的每个老百姓，不知道敌人是谁，也不知道为什么，就不断的放炮。大友没有交代敌人是谁和炮弹的目标如何受损，纯粹是放炮，不停的放炮，直到炮弹用尽为止。值得一提的是大友在这段短片里，采用了类似十九世纪末法国时事讽刺画家琶 埃（Dumiere）的画风，以及极流畅的「一镜带过」手法（cf.披头四「Free as a Bird」的音乐录像带），增加了本片的华丽性。这部片比较像是一部运镜手法诡异的纪实片，而非叙事性的片子。故在「阅读」上可能和另两部瑫a生比较不同的方式和角度。片尾音乐由日本电子舞曲劲旅「电气GROOVE」成员之－石井卓球所作，充满了TECHNO舞曲冷?#123;的未来风，更是本片的神来一笔。
