21响礼炮
最早源自海军军舰访问友好国家的港口时，军舰会舷炮齐发表明船上的炮桶已经放空以示友好和和平。
在陆军战场上，交战双方停战以便双方收拾自己的阵亡者和伤员时，也会大炮齐鸣呼唤战友重新投入战斗。这也是以鸣炮或鸣枪纪念阵亡将士的由来。
从1730年开始，英国皇家海军决定以21响礼炮作为向王室致敬的礼仪。21这个数字可能是因为古代英国人认为7的倍数是吉利的，而且英国海军还有一个迷信认为双数是不吉利的。
据英国国防部的一位发言人说，之所以鸣响41响礼炮向王太后致敬是因为通常在海德公园这样的皇家公园鸣炮，就会在21响的基础上再增加20响。而且在重大典礼中，每一响中间都有间隔。如果是致哀鸣炮那么间隔就是一分钟，因此41响礼炮就正好是40分钟
歌曲《21响礼炮》原名《21 guns》，绿日(Green Day)乐队为《变形金刚2》助阵的插曲，每当到戏中男女主角感情戏时，这首旋律优美的歌曲就会响起。
