剧情介绍1957年的秋天，美国康涅狄格州的一个小镇上，凯茜与弗兰克一家过着堪称完美的标准中产生活，刻守着家庭礼仪、社交繁节，还有2个不到10岁的孩子。但平静生活的外表下，却潜藏着未知的不安因子。有一天凯茜惊讶地发现丈夫竟然和另一个男人发生了关系，震惊之余她那安稳的世界也完全失控。凯茜一直在种族问题上持开放态度，在与风度翩翩、教养良好的黑人园丁雷蒙德交谈中，她得到了安慰和鼓舞。然而这种柏拉图式的友谊很快便招来了流言蜚语。同时她与好友及女仆之间的交往也发生了一系列变化。风雨飘摇中，凯茜与弗兰克艰难地试图重建原有的天堂般的生活……
