The Comsat Angels

The Comsat Angels' bleak, abstract pop was in a class with Joy Division, Wire, the Sound, and the relatively bombastic Chameleons. U2 probably ripped them off. The Sheffield, England group's first three albums — 1980's Waiting for a Miracle, 1981's Sleep No More, and 1982's Fiction — have been reissued by the U.K.'s Renascent label after spending several years out of circulation. The Edge and the late Robert Palmer really liked them, so you should too.
