汪的华1991年毕业于武汉大学环境化学专业，获理学学士学位；1994年于武汉大学材料保护研究室获理学硕士学位并留校任教；1998年获武汉大学物理化学专业理学博士学位；1999年晋升副教授，2004年7—12月在英国诺丁汉大学访问研究。主要研究兴趣为：熔盐电解固态化合物、离子液体电化学、腐蚀与防护、环境电化学、能源材料和化学电源。讲授物理化学、材料腐蚀与防护、环境电化学、电化学实验方法等本科生和研究生课程。曾获武汉大学优秀党员（1998年）、优秀学生导师（2003年）和第八届“挑战杯”全国大学生课外科技作品竞赛优秀指导教师（2003年）等荣誉称号。迄今他在金属腐蚀与防护、材料电化学、铅蓄电池和铅资源循环利用等领域发表学术论文40余篇，申请专利3项。他还是中国金属学会熔盐化学与技术专业委员会委员（2005-）、中国腐蚀与防护学会腐蚀电化学及测试方法专业委员会副主任委员（2002-）、中国腐蚀与防护学会缓蚀剂及应用专业委员会委员（2001-）、《腐蚀科学与防护技术》编委（2001-）。
