简介(brief introduction)
[a]中国辽宁省义县发现了一大型美颌龙科恐龙，研究者将其命名为东方华夏颌龙(huaxiagnathus orientalis gen. et sp. nov.)
东方华夏颌龙的模式标本几乎完整无缺，只缺少尾部最末端。这么完整的美颌龙科标本，目前只发现了2个，欧洲侏罗纪后期的美颌龙(compsognathus)与中国热河生物群的中华龙鸟(sinosauropteryx)。
像美颌龙科的全部恐龙一样，华夏颌龙有短的前肢，强健苗条的后腿，修长而灵活的脖子，上面长有一个轻巧的头骨，头骨中有许多空洞。就连它的牙齿都非常的小巧玲珑，但是却尖锐，边缘弯曲。
