作为享誉世界的名导演彼得·杰克逊的妻子，芙兰·沃尔士不止是他生活中的伴侣，更是他事业上的伙伴，甚至可以说，彼得·杰克逊的成就，都是在沃尔士的帮助下才取得的。
沃尔士也是新西兰人，出生在惠灵顿郡。在1987年遇见彼得·杰克逊之前，沃尔士是一个电视剧作者和音乐家。和彼得·杰克逊在小成本的荒诞黑色电影《坏口味》中合作之后，他们又一同制作了疯狂怪诞的玩偶剧《疯狂肥宝综艺秀》。两人的怪异口味在这部影片中不谋而合，展示的淋漓尽致。随后沃尔士又参与了那部让彼得·杰克逊一炮而红的僵尸电影《群尸玩过界》剧本的编写。随之又合作了影片《天堂造物》，这部风格大变的严肃影片获得了当年的威尼斯电影节银狮奖和一项奥斯卡提名。这个疯狂的团队很快又转回了恐怖喜剧片的套路，但是这次的《恐怖幽灵》反响平平，不过好莱坞仍然垂青着他们，万众瞩目的《魔戒》三部曲给他们带来了空前的压力和同样巨大的成功，影片共获得了11项奥斯卡奖，而沃尔士不止参与了影片剧本的创作，更兼任制片，剪辑，助理导演等多个角色。
接下来自然就是2005年上映的，同样好评如潮而票房大卖的影片《金刚》了，沃尔士同样参与了剧本的撰写和影片的制作，可以说，有彼·得杰克逊的地方，就一定有沃尔士站在他的身边。他们还育有一女一子。
