薛梅
薛梅于2002年在石油大学(北京)获得地球探测与信息技术专业工学博士学位后,同年前往美国威斯康星大学-麦迪逊分校攻读地震学理学博士学位,后于2005年转入美国加州大学-伯克利分校伯克利地震实验室继续攻读地震学理学博士学位。2008年1月薛梅博士将从美国加州大学伯克利分校回国被聘任为同济大学海洋与地球科学学院副教授,加入天然地震和地球动力学研究组。薛梅的研究兴趣主要有以下几方面:1)综合多种地震学方法(横波分裂、旅行时间成像、接收函数以及波形模拟等)研究地球的三维构造,推演与理解相应的地质或陆地动力学过程(美国西部和东亚地区); 2)地震预测及地震预警的物理机理、震源机理及其识别、零星震颤与慢地震现象的研究。 Mei Xue received her first Ph.D. in Earth Explorationand Information Technology at the University of Petroleum (Beijing) in2002. The same year, she went to the United States to study Seismologyat the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In 2005 she transferred to theUniversity of California-Berkeley and continued her Ph.D. study inSeismology at Berkeley Seismological Laboratory. Effective January2008, Dr. Xue will join the faculty rank as an Associate Professor atthe Global Seismology and Geodynamics Program, School of Ocean andEarth Science. Her research interests are using integratedseismological techniques such as shear-wave splitting, traveltimetomography, receiver function, and waveform modeling to explore the 3Dseismic structure of the Earth and understand its geological processesor continental geodynamics (western USA and East Asia). She is alsointerested in earthquake prediction, earthquake early warning, sourcephysics and discrimination, and episodic tremor and slow events, etc.
