组合介绍白人男子组合鼻祖：“New Kids On The Block（新街边男孩） ”
"New Kids On The Block"1985年在波士顿成立。他们是被制作人兼作曲家Maurice Starr发掘的。（Maurice Starr在1983年成功将同样是来自波斯顿的黑人五人组合New Edition推出音乐市场。两年后针对音乐市场上占绝对比重的白人而设计的组合就是NKOTB。 就像他所希望的一样在商业方面 NKOTB 远远超过了New Edition。）他们活力十足，外貌讨喜。当时乐团当中年纪最小的Joey McIntyre刚刚14岁，而年纪最长的Jonathan Knight也才18岁。他们不像前辈那样愤世嫉俗，也不追求另类嘻皮，朋克，不以新奇异怪的造型来吸引人的眼球。他们就凭着他们满身的稚气，稚气的形象，稚气的嗓音来打动人，感染人。仅仅出道一年，他们的音乐就象一阵龙卷风，席卷了全美每一个角落。他们健康纯真的形象，甜美无邪的歌声也走进了每一个10-20岁年轻人的心田。同时也向世界宣布，少男少女们有了只属于自己的音乐，只属于自己的流行团体。他们的出现和成功也定义了随后10多年中欧美层出不穷的男孩组合的模式。5名成员，彼此年龄跨度在5年以内，中性的外形设计，只演唱他人创作的歌曲，擅长舞蹈。也许你没想到，NKOTB就是当代eenagePop Group的老祖宗，我们心中已成永恒的NKOTB。
“新街边仔”熔合了rap和pop的歌唱风格，很快赢得青年人的青睐。1988年，他们凭着《Please Don't Go Girl》闯入美国BillBoard排行榜。到1989年“新街边仔”已经成为美国炙手可热的歌唱组合，其作品《You Got It (The Right Stuff)》、《I'll Be Loving You (Forever) 》、《Cover Girl》、《Didn't I (Blow Your Mind) 》深受乐迷喜爱。
2008年年初New Kids On The Block宣布重组并在7月18日推出了单曲《Summertime》
2008年9月2日曾经红极一时的男子组合鼻祖New Kids On The Block时隔14年出了新专辑《The Block》
Ne-Yo，The Pussycat Dolls，Akon等一些当红的流行歌手和组合在这张专辑中与他们合作。
