单曲简介“Liberian Girl”于89年7月在各国发行。它是《Bad》专辑的第9首单曲，也是最后一首。在英国它最高排名第13，在没有新素材加入，以及专辑本身热销的情况下，这个成绩尚且不错。它成为《Bad》专辑在英国榜上的第9只Top 30金曲（第8只Top 15单曲）。这个记录至今无人打破（《Dangerous》专辑也有9首金曲，但“Gone Too Soon”却没能打入前30名）。在美国它并没有发行，原因可能和“Leave Me Alone”的情况一样。
它在世界范围的表现并不如意。在法国它仅刚刚打进Top 20，在德国则打进Top 30，在意大利和澳洲则完全失败。
