简介(brief introduction)
[a]酋龙是一种大型而原始的蜥脚类，具有一个硕大厚重的脑袋，牙齿很大呈铲状，颈椎硕长具有分叉的神经棘分布在其后段一直延续到背脊椎的前段。腰带是典型的侏罗纪晚期蜥脚类的构造，具有四块接合的脊椎。背脊椎平凹型，而尾椎则呈双平型。
酋龙和发掘自澳洲大陆昆士兰地区侏罗纪中期的瑞特龙神似，而和峨眉龙，马门溪龙相比较则较为原始型。
