T+1 and T+3

T+1 or T+3 is a date by which an executed order must be settled, either by a buyer paying for the securities with cash or by a seller delivering the securities and receiving the proceeds. T+1 is one business day after the trade was executed. T+3 is three business days after the trade was executed.
