生平：
达纳·安德鲁斯，美国电影演员，生于密西西比州科林斯，曾在山姆·许士顿学院求学，他进入电影界相当晚，当米高梅影片公司在帕萨迪纳剧团发现他时，他已经是一个合格的会计，又是受过训练的歌唱者了。他在西部片《幸运的西斯科小子》(1938)中崭露头角，在威廉·惠勒导演的西部片《西部人》(1939，即《草莽英雄》)中扮演的角色颇受好评。他在二十世纪福克斯公司工作了十年，偶尔也为联美、高尔温等公司拍片。
1944年他在奥托·普莱明格导演的《罗兰秘记》中恰到好处的饰演了一个不可靠的、陷入情网的私人侦探。此后一直是一些影片的主要演员，并获得一定的成功。在多数影片中，达纳塑造了一个完全美国型的文质彬彬的形象，但是导演普莱明格善于发掘他灵活多变的气质，让他在《堕落天使》(1945)中饰演犹疑的两面派人物，在《黛茜·凯尼昂》(1947)中饰演风流男子，在《人行道尽处》(1950)中饰演狡诈的侦探，均比较成功。
五十年代中期，他的电影生涯走了下坡路，不得不去找寻可以担任主角的小规模制片厂拍片，随着年华老去和酗酒，他渐渐沦为醒角。
